Ethnographic Observation

Observation is fundamental to ethnographic research, yet we rarely consider how to hone our observational skills. This workshop aims to spark reflection on the role of observational skills in building knowledge about the social world and to offer practical exercises to increase our capacity to focus, notice, and describe. We will also discuss the potential of decentering ourselves in this process.
